Mexican-Inspired Chicken Tortilla Soup

Irish Whiskey Glazed Chicken Wings

Ingredients ( Servings:- 4 )

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

For the Irish Whiskey Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup Irish whiskey (Jameson works great)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for finishing)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare and Cook the Wings

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to coat evenly.
  3. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.

Step 2: Make the Irish Whiskey Glaze

4. While the wings are baking, heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add the whiskey and let it cook for about 2 minutes to burn off some alcohol.
5. Stir in honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
6. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly (about 5–7 minutes).
7. Remove from heat and stir in the butter for a smooth, glossy finish.

Step 3: Coat the Wings

8. Once the wings are crispy, remove them from the oven and toss them in the warm whiskey glaze. Coat evenly.
9. Place the wings back on the baking sheet and broil for 2–3 minutes for a caramelized finish.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy

10. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions. Serve hot with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing.
