Guinness Glazed Pork Chops
A flavorful and juicy pork chop dish with a rich Guinness glaze—perfect for St. Patrick's Day
Ingredients:
For the Pork Chops:
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Guinness Glaze:
- 1 cup Guinness Stout (or other dark beer)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Glaze
- In a small saucepan, combine Guinness beer, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Cook for 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glaze. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Pork Chops
- Pat pork chops dry with a paper towel and season with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork chops for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Brush the chops with Guinness glaze and continue cooking for another 1–2 minutes per side, basting with more glaze.
- Cook until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
Step 3: Serve & Enjoy
- Remove from heat and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle extra Guinness glaze on top.
- Serve with colcannon (mashed potatoes with cabbage) or roasted vegetables.
